Building & Housing Department, South District

 

Administrative Setup

The Buildings & Housing Department has got following official setup in the South District:-

  1. One Circle office at jorethang headed by Superintending Engineer who looks after both South and West Districts. The office also houses Electrical cell headed by Divisional Engineer (Electrical), S/W.

  2. One Division office at Namchi for entire South District headed by Divisional Engineer (South).

  3. Two Sub-Divisions, one at Namchi and another at Ravangla.

  4. One Departmental store at Chisopani, Jorethang where stock materials for the construction of buildings are stored. This is directly looked after by the store Circle situated at Gangtok Head Quarter.

Conveyance facilities

  1. Two hard top Gypsies, one each for Superintending Engineer (S/W) and Divisional Engineer (Electrical), S/W.

  2. One Soft top Gypsy for Div. Engineer (South).

  3. One Marshal for Assistant Engineer (Namchi).

  4. One Gypsy for Assistant Engineer (Ravangla), but being old and unserviceable. It has been parked at Store Complex, Tadong for which proposal for auction is under process.

1.  Two office Buildings at Namchi.

2.  Once Circle Office Building at Jorethang.

3.  One Office Building at Ravangla.

  1. Extension of District Library.

  2. Construction of Composite check post at Melli.

  3. Construction of Gnadak Gumpa.

  4. Construction of Guest House for C&D employees.

  5. Construction of Judiciary residential Bunglow.

  6.   Construction of Tribal Bhawan at Jawbari.

  7. Construction of ITI at Kichu Dumbra.

  1. Construction of 90 badded Barrack for Army.

  2. Additional works of Administrative Block PTC at yangang.

  3. Construction of Tribal Bhawan at Kewzing.
