SIKKIM STATE WIDE AREA NETWORK

The project was implemented by National Informatics Centre ,Department of Information Technology,Govt Of India.Under this project the 4 District were cover under Fiber Optics link for Internet access.Every District,Blocks are almost connected with Leased line circuit through BSNL and individual node is unedr 2mbps internet access speed.For South District NIC ,District Administrative Centre is the main control point from where the connection are terminated through V.35 and G703 Modem.BAC Sikip,BAC Temi,BAC Yangyang,BAC Ravongla,BAC Sumbok and BAC Jorethang is provided with 2 mbps link from NIC.Apart,the Power Department,UD &HD,Tourism,PWD,Schools(Namchi Girls and Boys Sr Sec Schools),CCCT Chisopani,Sird Karfactar,Health Department are connected through Wi-Fi or Wi-Max link.NIC South District has implemented the Wi-Fi project and laptop users can access the net through access point installed are District Administrative Building.
